P#56a is without overprint in the top right obverse corner. P#56b has an overprint, explained below. The first two numbers of the serial number represent the last two digits of the year of issue. So non of the note are no-date.
Note Printing Australia issued a folder containing this note with a red overprint "1901-2001" just below the "FIVE DOLLARS" on the Sir Henry Parkes side of the note. This is the P56b category.
The 50 lowest numbers were sold by tender AA01 001001 to AA01 001050
The general folder issue AA01 001051 to AA01 100000 of which 98,899 were sold (from Rennicks AUSTRALIAN COINS & BANKNOTE VALUES)
Also of note is that Note Printing Australia sold the first 500 notes AA01 000009 to AA01 000500 minus the first 8 (kept for archival purposes) by public tender. These notes did not have the overprint!
