New to Numista

I’m new to Numista and I’m also not a collector, just someone who has some old currency banknotes from traveling back in the “days” and no longer want to hang on to these currencies.  I have no idea if anyone may be interested in some or all of these, but I thought I’d reach out and see where it may lead.

I have Iceland kronur, about 60,000 worth in 5000, 1000, 500 and 100 denominations, all dated 1961.  Also have about 267000 Argentine pesos in 1000, 5000, 10000, 50000 denominations.  And Brasil cruzetros, too numerous to mention.  Also banque du liban livres (not many).  Banco de Portugal esscudos (a few).  gnnet gahka poccnn ?? (don’t recognize this language on the currency - only have a few).  One 500 note from Italiana. One 1 pound punt from Ireland (1976).  I only took pix of the Iceland Kronur.

Also have the following:

1Polish 20 note (dated 1994)

2 Australian 5 dollar notes (very colorful)

3 2 dollar Canadian notes with queen on bills (colorful)

Some more 1000 notes from italy

And 1 excellent condition “Safe Conduct Pass" with Sadam Hussein’s picture on it

Someone from Numista said I should put a Pick number on them - I have never heard of that number, so I’m a bitt lost on that suggestion.

Lastly, I have a jar full of foreign coins, too.

Thanks for any suggestions or help with this matter.

Pick is the reference number to identify the note. For example, your Iceland 5000 kronur's reference # is P47a

Australia $5 could be either one of these

N#202388

N#202727

N#202731

N#206839

A lot of people, including me, would be interested in quite a few of the notes you have depending on the condition. If you linked something like a mail order that you made in Google Docs to your profile in settings under “Personal Site”, it would not break any Numista rules for advertising/commerce. This way you would avoid eBay selling fees and still be able to sell off your pieces. Most people wouldn’t purchase anything without pictures, however. Having people make offers or going off of Numista valuations would probably be the better ways to go for price gaging if you don’t want to learn how to grade yourself using these grading standards.

This is probably the safe conduct pass that you have: N#374689

It’s worth about $5.

If you need help with variants poorly listed or find a gridded system easier to use, http://www.banknote.ws has every single note that isn’t a localised banknote listed with a Pick (P) number.

I would be tempted to sell the notes as a "lot" either by contacting your local coin club or by Kijiji (or some cheap online platform).  If you were to try your local coin club, then put up an ad before their next meeting.

For the exchange, just be sure to meet up with someone in a public place.
