Note: Two separate banks used the title 'Douglas and Isle of Man Bank' on their notes. Holmes & Co. [N# 296078 
], and Dublell & Co. [N# 296079 ]. Holmes & Co. failed prior to Dumbell & Co. starting up.
A history of Dumbell’s Banking Company and an account of the bank’s failure is reproduced from the Manx Sun newspaper in 1900.
