Kroonprinses Amalia 2003-2001

(en) Catharina-Amalia der Nederlanden was born on December 7, 2003. She is the eldest child of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima and therefore the crown princess of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
On December 10, 2007, Amalia will go to group 1 of primary school at the public Bloemkampschool in Wassenaar. In the 2015-2016 school year she will start as a student at the Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in The Hague. Amalia, like her younger sisters Alexia and Ariane, is brought up as normal as possible by her parents, in which there must be room to make mistakes.
On June 10, 2021, she passed her gymnasium final exam cum laude. The day after her final exam results, she sends a letter to outgoing Prime Minister Rutte, in which she indicates that she will take a "gap year" after her summer vacation and then go to study. She also writes that she will turn eighteen on December 7, 2021 and will then already receive a benefit according to the law, partly as income and partly as expense allowance. She continues the letter with the statement that this hate payment feels uncomfortable as long as she does not offer any performance in return. Finally, she indicates that until the end of her studies she will reimburse the allocated income as well as the expense allowance.
Rutte responds to the press that the content of the (now public) letter from Amalia does not arise from political pressure and is really her own decision. He can only understand and appreciate it. "As a society we can only say: wow, that's going to be a great queen!".
