In 1851, Bank of America was incorporated in Providence, Rhode Island with Adnah Sackett as the bank's first president. In 1890, it was reorganized as the Bank of America Loan & Trust Company. This institution is not related to the modern Bank of America based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Remainder notes like this were never issued and don't have a serial number or signature. Notes of this series were printed on sheets of three $1 and one $2 notes.
