Fantasy coin produced by Coincraft in 1984 to commemorate Edward VIII, who had no official Cyprus coins due to his 1936 abdication. Krause catalog number X#M2 is listed under Cyprus. This is part of a series of 1936-dated medals produced by Richard Lobel, through Coincraft, and are a tribute to a reign that produced almost no coinage. Reference catalogs don't typically list the weight of these fantasy coins, although for the 1936 Canada sovereign by Coincraft, NGC lists the weight as 4.86g. This is likely to be the weight of the other fantasy sovereigns.
