Privately struck silver temple token imitating a Mughal rupee of Emperor Akbar II (1806–1837 CE). Likely produced in Banaras (Benares), India, during the 19th century. Such pieces were not official currency but were used as religious offerings or souvenirs at Hindu temples. Square flan with Persian inscriptions resembling Mughal legends. Hand-struck; alignment and inscriptions vary between specimens.
