Gros of the highest rarity, only three known examples, struck between 1348 and 1353 at the Luxembourg-city mint.  Minor variants in legend are known.

Currency assigned to Charles IV by all authors. This likely date however can be questioned.
Charles was in charge of Luxembourg
since his coronation in 1346 until the end of 1353 when he leaves the county to Wenceslaus I.
By early 1346, he conceded the county to the archbishop Baudouin de Trêves, which
he owed considerable sums. Luxembourgers owed obedience to the archbishop who had full powers to govern and administer the county and
even had the right to monetize
