!!!! BEWARE OF POSTAL DELAYS !!! (Currently known countries: UK, USA)

Hello all,

Just thought I'd put this here for all swappers as I've experienced it lately. It looks like there are significant problems with items including those on "express" "priority" and "1st class" between the US and the UK in both directions. It can currently take up to 8 weeks. (I know all the Canadians are laughing at us now as their post always takes 3 months anyway.)

This is likely due to covid, elections, and likely soon brexit.

I've had a package missing for 5 weeks which magically turned up in heathrow today.

I know the LA International distribution center is strongly affected. Heathrow outgoing seems affected too, but I'm not sure about incoming.

Please help update your own experiences and countries so we can distinguish between packages delayed and lost.
Inbound and outgoing mail in Israel is crazy: it can take anything from 8 days (believe it or not) to more than 3 months: a package sent from Romania got cleared by the customs for delivery today, 3 months and 13 days after being sent. So, by the time I get it it'll be closer to 4 months!
And the good news? Of more than a hundred sent/received, I haven't lost a single package this year! So, in the end, it all comes to being patient: your 250 BC coin won't be much older by the time you get it!

ouch, why I oughta !! ;(

but can’t really say much since a *recent* letter to Puerto Rico reached only 10months later :°

else in general, I usually receive letters from the US within a week, from Europe within 2 weeks. Similar cases for me swap counterparts
I have gotten packages from France in a third the time it takes a package to get up to Canada in from the US!

Also, to anyone trading with Canadians and Americans, we don't use tracked packages....I was send in an envelope with just a few coins to France...44$...(30euro)....3x the price of the coins!
Here in Thailand I am still waiting for stuff sent in February and March and a "test" letter sent in July. Countries included are USA, Canada, Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Thai post has assured me that none of the mail has entered Thailand and that most likely is sitting in storage somewhere. Unfortunately none were registered mail. I'm going to try and start trading again but only through registered so it can be tracked.
In July I had a package take several months to get from the US to France. I stopped swapping for a few months. Recently I have had swaps from the US to Spain, Portugal, and the UK with no problems. I just send regular mail if that makes a difference. I have one ongoing with Israel sent Oct.11 Hopefully it goes well.
