I cannot say whether this proposal shall be implemented some day, neither will it be accepted by community as such.
I am deeply into collecting certain pieces and I watch regularly if there are new ones available. The time between the last check is crucial as the piece can be swapped unknowing that it was available for swap. Hence this proposal comes on mind - getting a daily e-mail to a personalized list of piece(s) every time when certain piece becomes available for swap. Selection in list is based on all checkbox "I wish to get it" entries.
Messaging can also be ticked on or ticked off in user preferences.
It all depends on possibility that all the wannabies are joined in single message. The other question is also the frequency of such messages, as well as what user truly wants.

Due to suggestion on other thread, maybe another insight here. Mail could be misleading as many members would get it and by the time they check it, the coin would be gone. The better option would probably be some kind of a "red dot" reminder on the Numista page itself (perhaps at the link "My wishes"). The same way, when a referee sees something new to be accepted (or with the number of swaps recently changed by the other side or number of unopened messages). Displaying available wishes I leave to the experts.
If we go further, I would say that only when new entries from different users are available, the "red dot" should be present. It would be also annoying to see the red dot, after user already checked with all users whether the swap of this piece would be possible.

The way I see it is this would be a separate option from the "My wishes" list so you'd get notifications only about coins added that you specifically asked for, not all the coins from your "My wishes".
Example: In my wishes I have a lot of world silver coins enabled but I don't want messages about those being added however there are about a dozen ancient and medieval coins I really want and there is a good chance they'll pop up on someones swap list sooner or later, those I do want notifications about.

"My wishes" is a general display, while "Coins available for swap from my wish list" is a more specific set. These two things I see as totally different, but could be joined to save up space. Think also over mobile screen settings, one more link is probably not a good idea.

On the page of each coin or banknote in the catalogue, you may select them to be added to the coins/banknotes that you wish or that you don't wish. You may review the coins/banknotes you selected on the following pages:
