The reverse features Johann Friedrich Böttger.



Johann Friedrich Böttger was born in Schleiz (where the coin is from) and he was a German alchemist. He is normally credited with being the first European to discover the secret of the creation of hard-paste porcelain in 1708.

While explaining this to my daughter, she instantly recognized the alchemical symbols of

Earth


and the Sun

But this planet symbol is also a metal symbol, Gold.

Knowing that Newton, Sigismund III Vasa, and others were passionate about alchemy, do you have any coins with alchemical symbology?

I searched "alchemy" in the catalogue and the only result is this Replica of a Ducat of Ferdinand III.
