Hi everyone,
ebay just asked me to change to managed payments. This means that I would not receive the money through PayPal anymore, it would be processed directly by eBay, so I add all the information that they needed for that. And surprise, surprise... I can’t list coins anymore on the site, due to being a restricted item for eBay managed payments.

Is this happening just in the uk or all over?
Best regards,

That is right, We closed our store, for good , screw Ebay, same in America too.
This was actually real? I saw a thread about it on the eBay forums back in August but after hearing nothing about it I dismissed it as a false alarm...
How did they ask you to switch over? Did they force you directly or do they impose a fee on sellers who don’t have managed payment?
Either way, I still see coins for sale from UK sellers (even tried to buy one earlier), so the implementation of managed payment isn’t complete...
I don’t sell coins at the moment but I’m already planning to do so and when I do it’s not gonna be eBay. At this point I’d rather sell a coin through my Instagram DMs than have to deal with eBay’s constant fees and unnecessary moderation. Plus there’s the wave of fakes and ‘restrikes’/‘replicas’ that have overcome the place recently

I think this sums up eBay at the moment...
Yes, it is real.
I received an invite to join inside the my eBay part. I read about it and it says that if you don’t migrate to the managed payments after receiving the invitation, they might not let you sell anymore, so I decided to migrate. But either way I can’t sell anymore. lol.
this is what happens when I try to list a coin. Or in this case even a token:
I need to find another platform to sell my coins now. I’m open to suggestions.
I was directly impacted so I can speak to this entirely. This does not affect Buyers, only Sellers. Ebay has deemed (forced) it appropriate to move all Sellers to a "Paid Management Program" short for we want more money and control over your store.
We closed our store because I we refuse to go by these rules, no joke, check this out...
1) Ebay will now have access to your checking account and not Pay Pal, cutting them out totally.
2) Ebay has the right to now handle all disputes and use your checking account at will to pay the buyer back weather we agree or not
3) Ebay Will now pay you in 2 week intervals, meaning if I sell an Item, not immediate money(pay pal again) and I will have to wait for them to gracefully give me my $.
etc,. I mean it goes on and on. and on and on.
I SAID NO WAY and you will see lots of Sellers go Away, here's why.
The seller can keep his old listings but without the ability to to modify at all. jeeze. So if a Seller did not agree to the "SHAFT program", he can sell the remaining listings, It is why and I and many others went ALL OUT on Listings for a final blast. So if they had thousands of listings it may take a while. The seller cannot create new listings unless they agree to the "Crap Program"
I hate Ebay
I hate Ebay
I hate Ebay
We hated them anyway, and wanted to quit many times, but this was the last straw.
"I can’t list coins anymore on the site, due to being a restricted item for eBay managed payments."
-this is crazy! I can't believe eBay has done this (& why?) They will lose a lot of good sellers (& are losing them as I write this). I was wondering why so many sellers are dropping off the radar (or refusing to sell to Canada, etc). New restrictions (costs/hassles) might have something to do with it.
