Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.
I have a special fondness for the Philadelphia minted coinage of Cuba, of which the "ABC" Peso 1934-39 is the Queen.

There coins were almost all kept in bank reserves, though some unknown number were circulated.
In 1951, when the market price of silver increased the central Bank of Cuba ordered all the silver pesos in reserve to be melted down for bullion. For this reason the official mintage numbers are moot.
The 1937 issue is a special case - The officials ordered one bag of each year of ABC pesos to be reserved for numismatic purposes. However, records indicate that all the bags of the 1937 ABC pesos were mistakenly brought to the port to be loaded on the Cuban ship Patria, for the shipment to the United States. During handling, one of the 1937 ABC peso bags burst open, and the coins were strewn over the dock. Sailors were instructed to recover them, but a number were unaccounted for. Overnight, the 1937 ABC peso became a rare item. The bank bags contained an unknown quantity, so the actual quantity can only be estimated.
Considering the unknown quantity in circulation at that time, estimates vary regarding the ABC pesos in numismatists' possession today.

Interesting it is quite hard to acquire Cuban coins these days most of my coins were from world coins lots or under different names such a Caribbean coin lots.

Got all denominations in CUC coins apart from the rare 1999 5 pesos coin which I can’t find anywhere also I have some higher grade Cuban coins here is one that I like the most.

Proud of owning this bad boy!

I've got about 300 different Cuba coins in my collection, 363 doubles and, unfortunately, a few non-existing ones:

where do you buy the “sanctioned coins” from? because I find it hard to get coins from countries such as Cuba,DPRK and Iran.

On coin fairs you'll find all these countries as much as you want. Of course, not for the moment, because of corona all the coin fairs are still canceled. I hardly buy something on eBay.
for me such commorative coins are just tokens made to enrich the makers!

when this pandemic blows over I would see If there is coin shows in my area and get any coins or notes that I like and would post it to the monthly additions to my collection.

They're not that hard to find. I've got at least 9 different in my collection and 14 doubles. But you have to take your time, you can't find everything immediately the moment you want it. Collecting also means having patience.

I know about waiting for the right moment for buying coins because most of the time they go for silly money for example back in late November I was bidding on a large North Korean coin lot located in Germany it had all the circulating type coins + some doubles of them and a 1987 uncirculated Arch of Triumph coin I placed a bid in for 35 EURO + 11 Euro postage to U.K. but it went for nearly 60 Euro.

The only time I got the “rare” CUC one centavo is from a Island coin lot I bought back in December (arrived early January)

And yet you have two of them in your picture, 1 aluminium and 1 copper plated steel.

those two came within the island lot that was the only way I got them including most of the CUP type ones and some of the CUC types too.

I just curious about buying more and the rare 1999 CUC 5 peso coin.
