When looking at the Belarus list, I found three separate lists as below.
1st Ruble 1996-2000
2nd Ruble 2000-2016
3rd Ruble 2016-

When looking for a particular coin dated 2010, I automatically clicked the link to the 2nd Ruble. Looking through the list, it quickly became apparent that the coin I was looking for was not in this list, so I actually started on page 1 and worked my way through until I did eventually find it.
There is an obvious error in these listings which I very much hope can be corrected

The third ruble was introduced in 2016 but the circulation coins are dated 2009. Which coin is it you were looking for?

I found the coin I was looking for, but my coin, dated 2010 is listed under 1st Ruble, which ended in 2000
If you look through all of the pages, you will see many of them are under the wrong dating link

In fact, almost all the non-circulating coins are wrongly placed. I'd say this is a job for the robot. There are far too many to go through by hand.

I just wanted to bring it to the attention of the members and hopefully, the referee will pick up my message and re-organise the whole lot

Nice to speak to another UK member

Yes, I agree, most non-circulating commemorative coins are placed wrongly for that period of time.
Well, at least there is a referee for Belarus. Hope he can see message and sort things out.

My main reason for this forum page is to stop members adding coins, that already exist in the catalogue, although in the wrong place, thus wasting peoples time. Members will also get fed up and not add coins at all.

Hello everyone, next days I want to introduce 2 coins of Belarus, and I have noticed that, as explained in this post, there are many commemorative coins that are not in their correct period. How is this issue?

I have also noticed that there are 2 votes against this proposal, it is curious that there are users who do not want Numista's catalog to be well ordered. Anyway, I guess sometimes it's better not to try to understand certain things...

2 negative votes!!!!!!!!

How can anyone prefer something being wrong? The Belarus listing is in an appalling state, and should be sorted.
If not, the appeal of Numista will certainly wane from my perspective. It is always mentioned about the Colnect website, but it is nowhere near as shambolic as this part.
The remainder of Numista seems very well organised, so why is Belarus so bad?

Hello 🤖

I'm happy to help, but I'm not sure which coins should be reassigned to the second ruble or the third ruble.
Should I just look at the date of the coin and update the non circulating commemorative coins accordingly?
  • Non circulating commemorative coins issued between 2001 and 2015 ➔ Second ruble
  • Non circulating commemorative coins issued after 2017 ➔ Third ruble

What about 2000 and 2016-dated coins? Shall we look at the exact date they were "put in circulation" as visible on the website of the National Bank? For instance, the "Olympic Games 2016. Rowing and Canoeing" coins were released on 16 June 2016, just before the Third Ruble was introduced (see https://www.nbrb.by/engl/coinsbanknotes/coins/commemorative/349), but 1 or 20 Second Rubles were almost worthless at that time... And should the "Olympic Movement of the Republic of Belarus" released less than 2 months later also with denominations 1 and 20 rubles be considered as Third Ruble (see https://www.nbrb.by/engl/coinsbanknotes/coins/commemorative/358)? It looks like Belarus issued non circulating coins continuously, completely independently of their own currency.
For now there's only one coin in the Second Ruble list.

I think that's almost certainly true. I would therefore recommend 2000-2015 to Second ruble and 2016- to Third ruble. If any one can come up with clear indications that some of the 2000 or 2016 coins are then wrong, it won't be a big job to move them.

Brlarus didn't have any circulaying coins until 2016. No coins dates 2016 and earlier should be listed in the Third Ruble list, I reckon.

Fine with me. It's done 🤖
