Hi guys, I stumbled across this coin from the last big Heritage Auction. But when I wanted to add it, I didn't know where. The Dutch Republic formed in 1581. This coin is from 1561 out of Groningen, so it would fall into this timeframe. But nothing like that exists on numista. So what should I (we) do with that? Maybe add that city/bishopric?
In the Way Dutch coins are currently catalogued they would fit in Spanish Netherlands under a still missing currency.
however, this whole Austrian Netherlands, Burgundian Netherlands, Dutch Republic and Spanish Netherlands, Low Countries Feudal: might not be the correct way to list them anymore?
As we now have possibilities to add ruling houses, dynasties etc.

I see you've added this coin in Groningen under Friesland. This is actually fine because Groningen was an independent city as can be seen from the coat of arms on the reverse. The Habsburg Netherlands coins usually depict the archduke/duchess, his/her titles or coat of arms.
As best I can tell, the most consistent approach (with what we currently have in the catalog) would be to create an issuing entity under Spanish Netherlands called Lordship of Groningen. According to this reference, Groningen became a Hapsburg state from 1534: A Brief History of Groningen (www.springelkamp.nl)
