Hi

I have been advocating for this for a while and here is the proposal in written. Currently all tokens from former Yugoslavia are all mixed up together, some put in today's countries and should be placed in the time of Yugoslavia, though history clearly distinguishes Exonumia from socialistic republics and Exonumia, that was generally used in more than one part of the country at the time.

As from Yugoslavia view, I don't see of much importance here separating tokens on FPR (Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia; 1945-1963) and SFR (Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, 1963-1992) Yugoslavia. Some may disagree, arguments dully awaited.

So I would propose that for the time of 1945-1991/1992 new "Ruling authority" options are given, but only for Exonumia and not for coins/notes (as coins and notes were approved as legal tender on federal level), as follows:
  • Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (1945-1992)
  • Socialist Republic of Croatia (1945-1991)
  • Socialist Republic of Macedonia (1945-1991)
  • Socialist Republic of Montenegro (1945-1992)
  • Socialist Republic of Serbia (1945-1992)
  • Socialist Republic of Slovenia (1945-1991)
*When selecting in Exonumia country Yugoslavia all tokens from above newly proposed Ruling authorities should also be displayed. In case of selecting e.g. Croatia, I would also propose, that all Exonumia from Ruling authority "Independent state of Croatia 1941-1945" and above newly proposed Ruling authorities should also be displayed (same principle goes for other five).

For Federal Republic of Yugoslavia 1992-2003 I leave the designation of Ruling authorities to the better connoisseurs.

I would also kindly ask Xavier to put all already published Exonumia with reference Švajncer# to Slovenia "Republic (1990-date)".

References like Mandic# BH, Mandic# HR, Mandic# MK, Mandic# CG, Mandic# SR, Mandic# SL should be listed to new Ruling authorities manually, as authors for Ranko Mandić's catalogue did a somewhat "strange" work when they did not separate Exonumia to the exact time period in which it was issued/used. So this reference cannot be used to sort this Exonumia automatically. For each of today's country and yesterdays socialistic republics and earlier, they mixed them all together based on where it was supposedly used.

Some Exonumia pieces were actually not made and used in Yugoslavia (e.g. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia37634.html), but due to the nature of lettering, authors of Mandić catalogue gave them a reference in it.

I truly hope, that this catches up some traction here... I don't care about the end solution, as long as Yugoslav Exonumia can be divided as proposed into socialistic republics.

This solution should also bear in mind, that Exonumia from other states/countries with federal organization, could also be divided as such (US, CCCP, etc). I truly believe that this extra level of separating Exonumia could be another game changer on this beautiful site. I also believe now is the time to implement it (other wise Cyrillus might have double work at hand coming up :D ).

Thank you!
Secondly I would ask if robot can help organizing "unknown" ruling authorities (can probably be set up also as permanent check also for new entries).

All tokens with "Country" and added mintage between 1945-1991/1992 be automatically sorted:
from => to
Bosnia and Herzegovina => Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (1945-1992)
Croatia => Socialist Republic of Croatia (1945-1991)
Macedonia => Socialist Republic of Macedonia (1945-1991)
Montenegro => Socialist Republic of Montenegro (1945-1992)
Serbia => Socialist Republic of Serbia (1945-1992)
Slovenia => Socialist Republic of Slovenia (1945-1991)

Added under Yugoslavia, based on mintage year, if available:
Yugoslavia & Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (1945-1992) => all with reference Mandic# BH
Yugoslavia &Socialist Republic of Croatia (1945-1991) => all with reference Mandic# HR
Yugoslavia &Socialist Republic of Macedonia (1945-1991) => all with reference Mandic# MK
Yugoslavia &Socialist Republic of Montenegro (1945-1992) => all with reference Mandic# CG
Yugoslavia &Socialist Republic of Serbia (1945-1992) => all with reference Mandic# SR
Yugoslavia & Socialist Republic of Slovenia (1945-1991) => all with reference Mandic# SL

Others based on mintage year, if available:
Bosnia and Herzegovina => Republic (1992 to date)
Croatia => Republic (1991 to date)
Macedonia => Republic (1993 to date)
Montenegro => no "Ruling authority" given yet
Serbia => Republic (2006 to date)
Slovenia => Republic (1991 to date)

The rest shall have to be updated manually.

bump?
Another message to "myself":

All tokens from series "Slovenska vojska" (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?mode=avance&ct=exonumia&se=%22Slovenska+vojska%22&e=slovenie) can be added to Slovenia, ruling authority "Republic (1991-date)" and currency to "unknown".

I can also manually reset all entries in couple of hours and leave over 200 entries to double click on the referees side.

thanks

Ot, the tokens stays in the token section - since they're tokens?
