was the original coin cast?
This one is clearly a pot metal casting.

Hello
Find it
It's could be a 7 Tien Tu Duc wich is not yet on numista (I'd like too have a real one.... even in bad condition..... and to be able to make a new file)
Find this
one
But I see that the number of rays of the sun are not the same but the character at the top is the same
and this second
one
Rays of sun are good But the upper and left characters are differents
Do not hesitate if you find another because Ngc and my World coins only provide drawings
The representation of my WC is also different than NGC but I have an old one from 1998
Thank you
Guillaume

Hey Gros,
My guess is that you have a Vietnam War Era (or later) copy of a Tu Duc 7 Tien coin. The weight is a tad off and the milling on the edges seems a bit crude to me. The silver Nguyen Dynasty coinage was not cast but instead milled.
Although I don't think your piece is original, it's still super neat and historical!
I recommend this video from Coinpicker to view genuine examples:

Hope this helps,
Harrison
