Hungary Mary I denar (1382-1385 & 1386-1395) [solved]

3 posts • viewed 96 times
Good day to you,

As far as I understand, Mária I reigned from from 1382 to 1385. She was dethroned by Károly II (1385-1386), but came to power again after he was murdered in 1386 and reigned till her death in 1395, as of 1387 together with her husband Zsigmond (who reigned till 1437). Are there denar coins that can be clearly attributed to Maria’s first or to her second reign, please? Occasionally sources mention “hybrid” for some of her denars. Hybrid in which sense, please?

Thank you very much in advance!

If I understand correctly, from the Numista catalog we have ...

First reign:

From the period of her second reign, but in name of Zsigmond:

Thank you very much indeed!
