Looking for 5 (five) Dutch Guilders for the year 1945.
Fine or U or BU preferred.
Can you specify that with a link to the page?
They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...
There are non, neither coin nor banknote 5 guilders of that year.

That’s the exact reason why I asked :)

What about the "GULDEN 1945 BU The History of the Dutch Guilder Token Silver Plated Proof B11
There are 2 avail on eBay.
Are there anymore available ?
@Peter I think your message is not clear. Are you looking for five (5x) 1Gulden 1945 coins of this type? Or one (1x) 5Gulden coins (there were none minted between 1912 and 1987)?
The "coin" you mention seems to be a modern token (not a real coin) in silver platted copper (instead of 720 silver) and much larger than the original.
Sincerely.

Thank you for that information, and the question.

I am looking for 5 (five) coins of the year 1945.

Would there any other Dutch coins from 1945 available?

Just these 3 were minted in 1945: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?e=pays-bas&r=1945&ct=coin&im1=&im2=&tb=y&tc=y&cat=y&ru=&ca=3&no=&v=&i=&b=&d=&u=&a=&dg=&m=&f=&t=&w=&mt=&g=&se=&c=&wi=&sw=

Hi Alex

Thanks for the info. Perhaps you can help me or steer me in the right direction.

I would like to obtain 5 Dutch coins dated 1945 - preferably the guilder if available - for the purpose of making each into a pendant to hang on a necklace for my granddaughters. I understand I may have to settle for the 25 cent piece or the dime. Any suggestions? I assume they are all shiny silver? Maybe the dime would work on a fine silver necklace.
Thanks, Pieter in Nova Scotia.
Those are 3 very expensive coins. NGC shows the following values for XF condition (which I'm assuming you'll want at a minimum if you plan to make jewelry from them):

10 cents 1600 USA
25 cents 300 USD
1 gulden 1200 USD

If you notice on the coin pages, no Numista member has any of the 3 to swap.
Wow. I did not realize that. Thanks for that info.

I guess I will have to reconsider my idea.

Appreciate your input. Have a nice day.
Pieter
Yeah... any other year you can probably get at a local store for a few bucks ($3 to $6 for the 10c & 25c each; $10 for the 1G)... but 1945 seems to be the exception with regards to prices. I'm sorry.

The little thing we call world war 2 could be the reason (popular date, melting etc.)

Hi Pieter,
Why are you planning to spoil/destroy nice coins in the first place? You said for your granddaugthers, fine.
Is there not anything else you can think about it, to give to them?
I hate the idea of destroying beautifull, historical things. I have seen so many of this homemade jewelry,
to be honest, it is never a nice jewel... and it is not a coin also anymore, so actually it is turned into scrap...
Please, do not take this my statement personal.
Best regards, Yvon
...you can run,  but you can't hide...
Thank you all for your suggestions and info. I really appreciate them.

Instead of the coins, would it be possible to purchase three (3) 1945 Dutch 1 guilder medals or tokens which I understand may yet be available?
