Terrazone--
Can I just PayPal wire you some euros rather than going through the pain of posting you the yen? :o

There has not been 500 yen notes for 50+ years now--only 500 yen coins.
The 2000 yen notes are just collectors notes now, 22 years old, nearly impossible to find in circulation, occasionally you can get one at a bank.

You must be having a bad day. Of course you can make any offer you like. For example, I'm looking for 50€ used notes for $30USD, no takers yet.

Would like to ensure trading is moderately fair here at Numista, and providing knowledge on the notes you ask for that do not exist. You can try your local international airport and ask for 10.000 yen notes at ~76€ plus ~5% service fee.

thanks for the tip and yes i do indeed have had not a good day, that being said also to my knowledge 500 yen was around till 94 werent they? when i was in japan around 09 i was given 500 yens in return exhcange at one point.

anecdote aside ill probadly be looking at transerals problem is that im paying alot more for the yen vs their worth here in sweden like a solid 10% more plus service fees.

Granted i did say the prices above where more of a guideline rather then sticky well well
Yes, my error, 500 yen notes existed in 1994 less than 30 years ago. Possible to receive in change in 2009, however you most likely received 500 yen coins.

I did not see a single 500 yen note while living in Tokyo from 1999-2002, however I did find several 2.000 yen notes even as late as 2015. The bank is happy to get rid of them.
