Can anyone help identify this coin, all i know is that it is a halfpenny of king Henry iii. I don't know anything about the mint and moneyer. I know this is a long shot, thank you in advance!
What are the measurements?
Yours has a cross of two lines, and these three results have one line:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?e=england&r=%C2%BD+Penny+Henry+VIII&ct=coin&im1=&im2=&tb=y&tc=y&tn=y&tp=y&tt=y&cat=y&ru=&ca=3&no=&v=&i=&b=&d=&u=&a=&dg=&m=&f=&t=&w=&mt=&g=&se=&c=&wi=&sw=

There is only one long cross ½ Penny with two lines:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces316386.html

There are no Henry VIII coins with two lines:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?e=england&r=Henry+VIII&ct=coin&im1=&im2=&tb=y&tc=y&tn=y&tp=y&tt=y&cat=y&ru=&ca=3&no=&v=&i=&b=&d=&u=&a=&dg=&m=&f=&t=&w=&mt=&g=&se=&c=&wi=&sw=

All that based on the existing pages on here - may be other pages not yet made.

Could it be this: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces55163.html ?

This is a penny from Ireland during Henry III's reign. It has the double lines.
In fact this might be a closer match: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces316386.html
Yes - that last link is what I mentioned earlier. Still not sure though.
The coin should have HEN on obverse and maybe OL on reverse:

Green = guessed lettering / Yellow = portrait with crown
May be a coin not yet on here.

Oh wow thank you so much for the effort and drawing up on it, i think the moneyer is NICOLE - Nicholas, but the mint is cut off.
I found this:
[Long Cross - Class 5 (1251 - c1272)]
https://www.ukdfd.co.uk/pages/Long-Cross-Pennies/Long%20Cross%20Pennies%20P1.htm

It is not that coin though, as on yours the HEN starts after the top of the crown.

The cross is exactly like mine, your right the lettering as in position is different. Thank you for all this information!
Just seen your reply. Yes looks like this, for London mint - from that link above:

NIC/OLE /ON L/VND

Thank you so much, so then it could be from the London mint, because it matches the style of that coin. Thank you so much!
Thanks. I had ten minutes spare so made this of the complete reverse, as it would have looked ...
NIC/OLE /ON L/VND [NICOLE ON LVND]

Reading that earlier link I see:
London had eleven moneyers during the long cross period, namely,
Davi, Henri, Iohan (sometimes abbreviated as Ioh’s, i.e Iohannes), Nicole,
Phelip, Renavd, Ricard, Robert, Thomas, Walter and Willem.

Also above that it says where on obverse the lettering starts - so yours is one of
Class 1 (1247 - 1248)
Class 2 (1248)
Class 3 (1248 - 1250)
Class 4 (1250 - 1251)
as 'Obverse legend begins at 12 o'clock' like on yours.

Assuming it is a Henry III coin of course. :)

I had a go at recreating the obverse:
HENRICVS REX III
So luckily I see III on top left so may well be a Henry III coin. Maybe.

Lastly, looking at those four classes ...

Class 1 (1247 - 1248)
Cannot be that as there is no
'Start of obverse legend is marked by a crescent around a star'

Class 2 (1248)
Cannot be that as there is no
'King's regnal number shown as TERCI (on obverse)'

Of the other two looks more likely to be
Class 3 (1248 - 1250)
as the crown stops between H and E of HENRICVS
in the absence of the left side of the coin to see if there is a sceptre there.

Summary: A coin of Henry III minted at London by Nicole between 1248 and 1250. :wiz:

Not sure without measurements how to tell if a halfpenny or a penny.
Phew - time for a lie down! :Zz:
