In the page of an event, e.g. https://en.numista.com/outings/bourse-multicollection-toulon-1768.html, section Numista Attendees, I can to do click on the submit button I will attend this event.

After click, the section Numista Attendees displays:
  • My nick/avatar -> Right.
  • The submit button I will attend this event, again -> Now the button must be rename to I will not attend this event. (In both submit buttons must be removed the final ".", because are buttons!).
  • Green check image with alternative text I will attend this event. --> Right, but this image can be moved near my nick.

A second option (I like more this) can replace the submit button by a label I will not attend this event: with two option boxes (yes / no):
  • When I click on yes, my nick/avatar are show (with or without the green check image).
  • When I click on no, my nick/avatar are hide.

You can see both options in next image:

Hello,

I agree that this button looked wrong.

  • I removed the final point in “I will attend this event”.
  • Once clicked, the button now becomes “Remove me from attendee list”

I believe that this label is less ambiguous than showing “I will not attend this event”, whereas the current state is actually that you will attend.

I also prefer it over “yes” / “no”. It would require a third state “I don't know” or “not specified”, which would be the default state. But we probably don't care whether the answer is not provided or set to “no”, and I don't see the point in introducing such complexity.

Ok. 😊

Actually, in my proposal “no” is the default state, but your solution is good. 😉
