Every once in a while, my ‘coins' and ‘Different coins’ changes by one, even though I have not added or removed a coin for five weeks.

As I collect by type, both of the above should read the same, but today, I had an extra ‘coin’.

When checking my recent updates, I found I had two of these, which has now been corrected by me, by deleting one of them.

Therefore, my question is "why is this happening? "

I think this happened to me too. Never figured out what the difference was so since then my personal Excel file had one coin less than my Numista collection…

Also one of my ‘coins’ got moved to the exonumia collection. Then some sub-types that were on the same Numista page got split up in separate pages (at least that's what I think happened, it's difficult to follow alle changes). And so my Excel file began to differ more and more from my Numista collection.

And then my number of countries began to go up and down, and the issuers count fluctuated even more wildly.

Bottom line: I gave up on trying to match my online with my offline collection. It's extremely difficult to follow small changes in the Numista database on your own. I had hoped to find the more important changes like countries and issuers here on the forum, but that thread doesn't seem to be update anymore…

On your page tabs, you click onto “My coins” and at the bottom of this page you can find a link to your “See recent collection changes”. You can then find out by changing the dates, which change has caused the imbalance.

I know how it works, I just never thought to look for updates that aren't mine…

And it's too late now. I haven't been very active in collecting the last two years but when I search for coins that have been updated, the list is enormous…
