Edge list

Hello,

I really appreciate we have a list of edge it make it easier for everyone to identify the edge of the item you have in your hand.

I see an inconsistancy in the list of edges:

The right or left comment are depending on how the coin is set (up or down).

Therefor if we have it for this 4 type why don't we have up or down for these:

I personnally thing left and right are not necessary for Reeding slanted and Incuse reeding slanted but if we keep it then we have to integrate:

Embossed lettering obverse up

Embossed lettering obverse down

Incuse lettering obverse up

Incuse lettering obverse down

Lettering on reeding obverse up

Lettering on reeding obverse down

Embossed pattern obverse up

Embossed pattern obverse down

Incuse pattern obverse up

Incuse pattern obverse down

Not true.  Slanted left and slanted right are not the same regardless of which side is up.  If it's slanted left with obverse up it's still slanted left with obverse down.  Lettering and patterns are almost always random (at least for modern coins).  It's split 50/50 lettering obverse up and lettering obverse down.

I reckon you're right, I assumed without checking my fault.

Also embossed edge lettering is usually done with a collar die while the obverse and reverse are stamped and have as such a fixed orientation and only a few positions (see Swiss 5 Franks).
