due to recent changes and decisions on Numista which I do not agree with and that I do believe will hurt the higher numismatic standing of Numista, I have decided to leave my position as German States Referee
(+ my Referee positions for Basel). At the same time I will reduce drastically any time spent on Numista if things are not being changed the way that they should be.
Many great additions and changes have been made on Numista and I believe this website is only getting better by every passing year. Thank you Xavier for finding passion again for Numista and investing such enormous efforts on this website. A big thank you also to all other Moderators and referees, many who dedicate a lot of work, passion and enthousiasm for Numista.
Great improvements have been made and there is still a lot of growth potential and possibilities for Numista.
I am still hoping to see one day the possibilities to have a real listing of numismatic books (Similar as we now have for coins, banknotes and exonumia) and that members all over the world can in future also swap books. Bringing numismatics to young and old throughout the world.
Even when my time on Numista has always been somewhat limited due to my work and due to my private life it has always been a great joy to work as the referee for the German States.
To develop and increase as well as improve its catalogue and to also add many other coins and exonumia on Numista.
After having added now more than 10.000 coins on Numista I would like to thank all of you.
Enjoy the time on Numista and collecting coins, notes and exonumia but never forget to also do your best in your private lives.
Thank you my friends,
Paul

Several things triggered me but the final one giving me the push where decisions taken without consulting referees and numista members, the last one asking to move all Patterns Trials and others such as Löser coins and other non legal tender coins to Exonumia and not in coins anymore.
Möser coins where also not legal tender and where more similar as patterns in such they where given as presentation pieces from the ruling authority to other members of nobility and friends and family.
I did not agree with such a change.
other reasons are simply that recently I could not put in so much time on Numista as I would have liked for making it near impossible for me to further enhance the catalogue. In that sense I do feel that fresh people will be able to bring in some good new energy.
At least that is what I hope :)
Paul

You love numismatics, coins are joy, fun and the meaning of a hobby for you. It's understandable, everyone can experience it, it's new,, burnout syndrome,, -in fact, it is as old as mankind itself.
Give yourself a break to reassess-a little different and less stress.
It can be seen that you can be passionate about numismatic issues and you are certainly so goal-oriented even in life situations, therefore take it easy, do more sports, but also sit over a bottle of good young wine (it's already starting to ferment)
I wish you health, success, and stay in the action sometimes "numist", don't lose the relationship. Time will tell how it is that deeply affected you.
I understand you completely, sometimes I feel the same, but for the good of all present and future collectors and members of the numista community, I go on with my non “conform” documentations.
Hals und Beinbruch in what else you'll be doing now, and thanks for your time well spent in Numista.
Awesome work Paul. As for the numista team, let the kids play numismatics. 🤪
I will pass this golden opportunity, just out of maturity. 😉
As for Paul, I already wrote to you everything in PM, I would just reiterate great thank you for everything you done on Numista and wish you very best in the future.
Also this departure teaches a lesson to be more pro active in changes discussion. And it also probably started great exonumia split into several parts.
You were a pillar of Numista, not only for the significant time dedicated, but especially for the quality of your contributions, always thoroughly researched and based on actual reputable references and catalogues, a rare thing on Numista.
Your decision is understandable, but sad nonetheless.
Best wishes and a big thank you for making all that valuable knowledge available to the community through your contributions.
Thanks for being the host of MPCC 2020 and 2022 which I’ll remember fondly of hopefully a appropriate successor is chosen for the role.
Thank you for you service that made Numista a better place with your over 10,000 contributions!
Hopefully you don’t fade totally into the background and sometime in the future you will return.
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.
First of all, and although I have not been able to deal directly with you, I have been able to follow your contributions to Numista and I have to say that it is a real shame that you have made this decision. I don't know if there is still the possibility of reconsidering it, I hope so and that Numista can continue to have someone like you in their team.
I take this opportunity to send a message to those who make decisions at Numista:
I am aware that important efforts are being made to improve the catalog and the functioning of the website and I believe that they are giving very positive results, which is why I congratulate the moderators and referees. Thank you for your great work, but there is something very important that we continue to fail at and that is “unilaterally” making certain important decisions that affect everyone who uses and works to improve Numista.
This website is sustained thanks, in part, to the great effort of many like Apuking, who dedicate a lot of time and all of us would like certain decisions to be possible by consensus as much as possible and not be taken “unilaterally”. I understand that someone has to make the final decision on the issues discussed, but I think that in this decision the opinion of the users should be taken into account. Otherwise, it is easier for someone to make decisions like Apuking that directly and negatively affect Numista.
MANY THANKS APUKING!!!!
