I don't thank that is a proof for a proof coin, it's your subjective opinion only, no?
SCWC shows only proofs of this coin were 1980, no 1988 proofs.
Okay, but it's proof, even though it's not cataloged. I compared it with other normal coins of the same year and it is quite different. It has the mirrored back (proof) with the matte details and everything. If they don't add the year line that's fine, I'll keep it in the collection in the same way but with the right information. Thank you all!

That's how I do it as well, a sensible way of proceeding.

No, no new year line for a not confirmed PROOF coin.
Doesn't look like a modern proof coin to me, maybe one of the first coins of a fresh die.
Proof coins are minted at least three times, this gives them, in combination with very low mileage dies, very sharp edges but we can't see this on non macro images.

Hi Fabio, What a beautiful coin of 1988.
I was certain that Proof coins were minted in 1980 only. I went back to review my catalog of Pratt Mayans and Krause and no proof mintages are reported in 1988.
I had the opportunity to see Paraguayan proof coins issued in Germany in the 70's
where the quality and contrast of the mirror/matte background are very high.
According to my very humble opinion, in this case it’s one of the first coins issued over a new/fresh die.
