Hi can anyone give me any information on this Celtic silver unit. It is dished and has “VER” on one side and a horse on the other. The diameter is 13mm so smaller than usual I think.
I found this: Catuvellauni tribe, where coins of king Tasciovanus were the first to appear with the mint-name VER[ulamion] c. 20BC.
The obverse type could match with coins like these indeed:
N#228357
A possible match: https://iacb.arch.ox.ac.uk/id/abc.2625
Thank you for the id - I definitely think the tribe is match.
I’ll see if I can get the coin a little clearer to see if there is a rider on the horse and dots around the VER.
