Obviously copper.  About the size of a penny. I was thinking byzantine.  ButI'm not sure.  I'm still researching.  Any help would be appreciated.

hi,

your coins has the form scyphate ( cup shaped)?

Slightly. Yes

Can you post a weight and diameter please.

Just looking at it, it looks like it could be byzantine or bulgarian.

Yes, this is my cat

I think it is Byzantine Empire or Bulgarian Empire there are many similarities these two Empire have the scyphatic coins and your coin looks a lot like them.

I would guess under 2 grams. I was researching and saw trachys from the bulgarian and byzantine empires. I think it's Alexius iii. But there's others and I'm trying to determine if A. I'm correct on the origin,  and B. Which ruler it was. Thank you again in advance.

I found a list that identifies the emperors who used Scyphate coins, for your coin. I saw coins of Isaac II which looks a lot like.with this list maybe it can reduce searches.

Ok. So I went on wild winds website and searched hundreds of photos.  This was the the only one with the same pattern on the clothing.

the people do look very similar. It is to bad we can't really see anything on the other side of the image you found. Did you find the ruler of the coin you find on google?

Yes, this is my cat

It says st.helena and Constantine. And Jesus on the flip side. By far one of the hardest coins I've had to identify. I'm still researching before confirming.  But I can't find ANY images of this coin online…much less a value or other photos.

Just found this.  St. Helena and st. Constantine…same pattern on the clothing.  And reverse image

Another one.  Three matching up.  I think this is it

These do appear to be very similar.

here is the numista link to the coin you just found on google   N#156002

unfortunately the pictures on numista are very worn and you can't see anything that would identify it.

Yes, this is my cat

It matches the year 1204 to 1224, copper, weight, scyphate. Seems right.  That's very useful actually. I have my more modern u.s. coins and paper currency in albums.(by modern I mean 19th century til present) and I'm creating an album for old world coins. I'm trying to identify and label everything there.

Got tons left to identify. And I have everything organized.  I have an album for gold coins but that's locked up for obvious reasons.

Nice collection!

I like your page of romans and 8 reales

Yes, this is my cat

Thank you.  I'm trying to organize by empire or country and by date…I often post on Instagram it's a coin page only.  It's the same name as I have here.
