Conmemorative medal for the coronation of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria as King of Hungary (as Ferdinand V) in Posoni (Pressburg, now Bratislava) on September 28th, 1830.
He followed his father Francis I in the throne of the Austrian Empire in 1835 as Ferdinand I, till his abdication in 1848.
The crown on the reverse is the hungarian Saint Stephen Crown.
Would be interesting to know material, weight and dimensions of your medal!
Weighs right and clearly it is this one in the attached link.. You could help improve the Exonumia catalog by measuring it's diameter and noting the edge type ( smooth or reeded )and providing the new information to the “modify or add data to the page” area at the bottom of the link, and requesting the change / additional information be added to the page In the comment section, Simply state that you own and have it in your possession to justify and verify the new information about it. Lucky you.
If that is indeed a find from Australia that is rather amazing and historically important.

Sorry for geeking out on your find but I have been searching other sites for this specific type and there is very limited information about it everywhere I have searched. It would be very interesting to discover the gold fineness content. Perhaps a jeweler could test it for fineness and so we could estimate gold content value and add that information to the catalog as well.
