Plate Letters India Rupees

Hello, I bought some Indian Rupees for my collection and then came on here to update my banknote list and had to guess what the plate letter was because I couldn't find any articles on the internet that actually showed a calculation to work them out. If someone could help, I'd be really grateful. :)

Without pictures, it will be very difficult for anyone to help you. Could you please post clear pictures of each side of your item?

There is no calculation to work out for plate letters. There are 4 banknote printing locations in India. Each location has around a half dozen letters that they use as plate letters with the absence of a plate letter being one of the possibilities. It is a highly guarded secret where the printers are located and the plate letters that they use.

I do not understand. Why is such a secrecy on those letters? For the US$, we all can tell by looking at the letter assigned to each of the 12 Fed Reserves.
