Condition - Chinese 1 & 2 Yuan Banknotes 1960

5 posts • viewed 94 times

Can anyone give me any indication as to the condition of these two Chinese banknotes from the 1960s?  I'm only just starting to catalogue my banknote collection and would like to hear people's opinions on condition.  These two seem like a good place to start.

Watermarks are the standard large star with 4 smaller stars (a bit clearer on the 2 Yuan).

Thanks

I would lean towards fine. The corners are good except for the fold on the one yuan.

It would depend on if there is any crispness to the paper left and how much damage the vertical folds have done to the paper.

I see the 1 yuan selling for $25 at shows in uncirculated condition.

F to F+  depending on the crispness of the paper. However, you should also mention that: the 1 yuan note has several stains on reverse & 2 yuan has some staining on its backside.

bit of coincidence, my wife is in China now and has picked up these two and the 5,2,1 jiao.

the more eyes the better , I did not notice the stains.
