Worst Portrait of ER II?

This has to go down as a pathetic effort of portraying the Queen. I just can't see any resemblance at all. Is there a worse portrayal?

Hahaha, you win hands down!

What the?

I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

I'd hoped to see the answer revealed, so I'll just ask outright: what is this?

I assume it's a token; if I took a shot in the dark I'd guess the art style is African, but googling any obvious search terms related to this is a fruitless effort.

Needless to say, it is magnificent.  I would be delighted to hear where it came from.

Is it maybe possible to show the other side also, please?

...you can run,  but you can't hide...

I don't mind the portraits seen in the Bahamas.

I've heard some collectors complain about Canada's 2012 $20 (& I am no fan of this drab green note). The 2015 Commemorative was a bit nicer (with a hologram of her coronation years):

But I think this $20 one from New Zealand is probably more dubious & the 100 Pounds from Jersey at least portrayed her more accurately. All considered, she aged fairly well.

Jersey's 100 is just as bad…

The OP didn't say anything about portrait on coin/banknote so I used an image submitted recently here.

But also here in exonumia so I guess it counts.  N#134589

Getting to serious and actually circulating coins, not tokens and joke coins from France or wherever.

This is actually circulating coin of the realm.

Post 2000s Canadian coins have a very basic and plain image of her. The hair detail is good but really makes her look more like Barbara Bush or Nancy Regan than the Queen. These are quarters and I think the logo on the Winter Olympics ones look even worse.

This coin shows all the effigies used on NZ coins until 1998. The one in the Tiara was used on special dollar coins from 1979 to 1982 and is not a hot favourite, the Queen has a nose profile that looks like a Simpsons character.

The Canadian motif was much truer to how she looked at the time than the grumpy one introduced in the UK. Having her image look plain was also important from a Canadian viewpoint as subtlety is something appreciated here. That image was generally well received in Canada

Interesting that so far aprt from that stupid joke coin from France, all the nominations involve Canada, NZ or Bahamas. Realm countries rather than the UK itself. But Canada comes out on top as the worst so far.

If it helps the Bahamas and NZ do not make anything themselves. Our mediocre steel coins come from !!!! You guessed it Canada. Sorry, but when you guys nixed the silver in 1968, the quality of your coins went down!

Well, you’re entitled to your opinion. So nothing to be sorry about. It has very little consequence :)

St Helena, Ascension, Tristan Da Cunha, all of those coins are not proper coins, just bubblegum coins produced by vanity mints like Pojoby, westminster or some American money making operation. We don't count them.

Minting coins in Ruthemium is a gimmick really.

These coins are the numismatic equivalent of “wallpaper” stamps from places like Ghana and the Grenadines of St Vincent that have Obama, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis on them.

The lion on the back of that second one looks badass though!
