Date on Egypt 50 Piastres

9 posts • viewed 282 times

Hi again,

I have a 50 piastre note similar to:

50 Piastres - Egypt – Numista

I read the date as 30th April 1998. Unfortunately that date is not listed in Numista. Am I reading the date incorrectly?

Thanks

If the format is (which is not explained in the comments) Y3DDMMY4 - 930048 → 30.04.98

I'm also struggling with a date on a 50 Piastres note. I see that the numbers here convert to 921084. How do I read this as a Gregorian date? Thanks!

1994-Aug-21

Wonderful! Thanks for this help. I've tried to search online for a conversation process or website, but can't seem to figure it out. Can someone point me in that direction for future reference?

There was a reply on here recently - from what I remember …

921084

the first and last number make the year - so is 94 [1994]

then 21 is the day

then 08 is the month

So in that system today would be 218073

18th July [20]23

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

Excellent! Thanks!

It was literally the post above mrswain's initial post 😅

Y3DDMMY4 - 930048 → 30.04.98

The conversion process above is correct, but recent banknotes, the dates were written directly dd/mm/yy. and the current polymer notes do not have any dates on them
