Can you please help me identify this coin / medalion  ? 

The date is not visible and I cant find it in the catalogue.

 Also, it never was a coin - with no date or denomination or country. 

Furthermore it was once a pendant - at the top is seen where the hanging loop was cut off. 

It looks like the 2 pound australian gold coin from 1902 so my first thought was that someone turned this similar coin into pendant because it had some value….
