I can't figure for the life of me the difference between these two coins

N#49346

N#49366

I noticed that for one it says for the obverse “NO ornament above the word Abdulhamid I” and for the other “Ornament above the word Abdulhamid I” , but I can't figure out where that is. Maybe someone can help me figure it out

I think you cannot see any difference on these two coins,

N#49366

this one has the reign year: 78, which doesn't exist for this type?

and this one : 13

I'm pretty sure that for the first one the reign year is just “8” and the supposed “7” is just a part of the design (you can also see that design thing in the second picture)

The main reason why I ask this question is that I have this coin but I'm not sure which one it is since I don't see what the difference is between KM# 402 and KM# 403

Try to take a look here https://en.ucoin.net/catalog/?country=ottoman_empire&period=1096 and you'll find the difference.

Unfortunately, I can not set up a documentation of coins I don't have…

Here is a difference in the Zeno photos:

The tulip is missing in the coin on the right.  Maybe this is the “ornament” (I am assuming it's a tulip, since I know this flower figures into Ottoman emblems).

I think the Numista photo for one of the types is worn in this area, which makes it hard to see the difference.

Your right image is of a km401 coin. The left is the km402, all right, but you're missing the km403. Zeno hasn't got it:

Yes that is the ornament. Here are better pictures from PCGS:

KM# 402

KM# 403

I never managed to find the pcgs images….

Back to the drawing board.

Who will make the CR?

First though, do you agree with the graphic?

Yes.  I'll submit the CR. I'll also add the PCGS pictures to replace those in Numista.

Done and validated.  Thanks to SStefanov for the lightning quick response.

Interesting about KM403 is that the ornament is not gone, it has just moved across the coin by about 180 degrees (to roughly 7:30, and above what I think is the mint name?).

Anyhow, nice work!
