Hi lovely people,

I created a coin gallery web app for Numista users. You can easily import your coins and exonumia, filter and search quickly and see some statistics on the filtered view.

If you like to beta-test, please fill out the waiting list form and I'll send you an invitation email afterwards.

Thanks for asking Sjoelund! I just use the referenced image URLs from the Numista API. The images  are not downloaded and not stored in the NUMISTAR file storage. Does that answer your question? BR, Martin

No, people might just be copying the images for their own use, which is then against any copyright rules?

The import problem was fixed!

BTW: I limited the number of different coins to be imported to 100 during beta phase, because of the Numista API request limit of 2000 requests / month. If you need a higher number, please send me an email to support@numistar.com

What about uploading photos of your coins from your computer or from your phone?

I know a lot of collectors want to do that, then they can showcase their collections to other collectors - me included.

Aidan.

Tip: When you sort by price, a price label will be added to the coin images when you added a buying value to your collection items in Numista (see screenshot)

Hi Aidan,

this gallery app is just for showing, searching, filtering and sorting your coin collections from Numista. The only way to get in data is to import your coins from Numista. A photo upload function for NUMISTAR is currently not planned, but AFAIK it's possible to upload your own coin photos to Numista.

Martin,

Well, you should include a photo upload function - as collectors want to upload photos of their own coins, not photos of someone else's coins.

Hi Aidan, I'll think about it …

this gallery app is just for showing, searching, filtering and sorting your coin collections from Numista.

Just wondering- if I am missing something?

How is this app different to Numista - unless you have photo upload functionality of  coins in your own collection?

NUMISTAR's focus is on presentation. You get a  compact fullscreen view of your coins, a quick filtering, sorting and full text search with statistics on the filtered set of coins. That's what I missed on Numista. It's not a replacement, it's an enhancement so to say.

Martin,

  This will be of interest to you;

You could make a blank version of Numista that is customisable - including having the ability to change the background colours, & having as many or as few information fields.

I think Xavier will let you upload it to both Fosshub & Github under a copy left licence.

You're really starting to act like a village idiot with these comments…

Village idiot?

Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?

Your name-calling has gone beyond ridiculous - as that is what children do at school, so grow up!

I haven't called anyone names in this forum recently, except when I am angered.

I'm not calling you a village idiot, nor have I ever called you names. I'm merely pointing out that you're starting to act like one. You keep on repeating your mantra about a blank version of Numista on Fosshub, but you have no clue what you are talking about. You've been told by multiple people that what you want doesn't exist and isn't going to happen, but you still persist. Hence, the resemblance of a village idiot.

They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...
