Coins real or fake?

Hi All

I acquired this when I was in Carthage in Tunisia. I was told it was a Punic coin from ancient Carthage. I had to run it through an ultrasonic cleaner but once I did it revealed the head above. Would anyone know whether this is legit or a fake, or how I could find out?

Thanks!

Looks like a typical north African sand cast tourist fake. It should be silver.

Hello,

I’m no expert on fake/real coins, but I heard the edge of the coin can sometimes tell you if it is real or not. The edge of a real coin should have stress marks or lines from when it was struck by a hammer.

That being said Im not sure if it is real, but I think it is from King Lysimachus and the reverse should read some thing roughly along the lines of:

ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ

ΛΥΣΙΜΑ(Ξ/X)ΟΣ

sort of like this:

N#190033

Hope this helps!
