China 100 yuan 2015 new serial number combination?

6 posts • viewed 189 times

I recently got this 100 yuan banknote from one of my friends: N#205868

The banknote page lists two serial prefix combinations, X#X# and XX##. (X = letter, # = number)

But this has an X##X type combination. Is there anything wrong with it? Here is a picture:

Also, I found this listing has a similar type of serial prefix: ebay.com/item/46f2e60027%3Ag%3APC0AAOSwAjRjZ

Thank you in advance,

Gábor

Banknote Museum has identified four serial number variants here: http://www.banknote.ws/COLLECTION/countries/ASI/CIN/CIN-PR/CIN0909.htm. The note you have is the third one listed. This is a relatively new banknote so it is definitely possible if not probable that there is an error on its page here on Numista.

Colnect has three variants: https://colnect.com/en/banknotes/list/country/44-China_Peoples_Republic/series/222341-2015_Mao_Tse_Tung_Enhanced_Security_Features_Issue. Your note is also the third listed here.

The page here on Numista probably needs to be edited to accommodate the other two combinations.

Hope this helps!

Thank you. I'm now waiting for someone capable of adding it. Since if you click on edit, it says that the year list is verified and completed.

This is the reference: http://www.banknote.ws/COLLECTION/countries/ASI/CIN/CIN-PR/CIN0909.htm

I just requested that it be added here: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic138684.html

Thank you!

The page has just been updated to include the newer types!

Cheers,

Titus
