Pure nickel coins as an investment

What do you think, are pure nickel coins good as an investment?

The most common coins made out of pure nickel are: from Canada: 5 Cents made before 1981, 10, 25 and 50 Cents made before 2000; ½, 1 and 2 French Franc and 0.10, 0.25, 1 and 2½ Dutch Gulden coins.

Currently nickel's price is at around $16.30 (€14.90) per kg or 50 cents per troy oz, but it's still one of the most expensive non-precious metals, and was worth $54 (€49) a kg at its height.

So what are your opinions?

Why not just buy a literal ton of nickel rods? Sounds way easier and cheaper.

I agree.

Unless you could get the coins for free somehow it probably would be cheaper.

Yes, this is my cat

Exactly what FeeFoo said. I do so; I keep coins who are not nice or not possible to swap, sorted by metal. Every metal has  its own price on the recycling market. But as an investment, I do not see that. It is a nice small return if you buy bulk-lots.

...you can run,  but you can't hide...

If you know how to use ebay you can get vastly more money per kilo just selling bulk if you have alot of left over junk coins

That is indeed another option too.

But the key and semi key datas are worth money

50,000,000-20,000,000 mintage are semi key date 19,999,999-1 mintage are key dates

Trade common dates above 50 million as bundles of $1-3 amount

easier to sell coins by the kilo.

You can mix metals and any other junk coins, and they sell for between £10-£15 a kilo including postage. and way easier as it requires no sorting.

try To fill up a Canadian and usa coin albums with common dates as starter kit put a jewel lube and nick a date sell that. Key dates and semi key dates sell them in 4-8 coins a lot
