Hello,

I would like to share some statistics about how the Numista catalogue grew in 2023.

  • 4 172 people contributed to the catalogue. I would like to warmly thank them all!
  • 1 163 363 modifications were made to the catalogue (2.2 modifications per minute!), not counting automatic modifications (for example, 68 508 sales records were added automatically)
  • 38 165 new types were added to the catalogue, reaching the milestone of 350k types described!
    • 16 453 new coin types, increasing the count of coin types from 191 773 to 208 226 (+9%)
    • 4 636 new banknote types, increasing the count of banknote types from 34 685 to 39 321 (+13%)
    • 17 076 new exonumia types, increasing the count of exonumia types from 86 716 to 103 792 (+20%)

Soon to come: 2024 figures! Can't wait ! 😀

I'm not sure, if that's a positive. It very much depends on how it's implemented, we have several examples of it being used against the wish of most members.

???

How would New references harm any user?

In the sense that those new catalog numbers overwrite the KM numbers.

Then you don't understand those stats
They are about proportion of collectibles having at least 1 reference code attached (whatever code) and absolute total number of books listed on Numista; so your issue about in which order you prefer to display reference codes in pages has nothing to do here
