Hello everybody. Could you add to the banknote catalog the group of issuers "Japanese Feudal Domains", with all the issuers together?
My request is based on looking at banknotes from issuer Japan already add in the Numista. The oldest banknotes right at the beginning of the Meiji Restoration and even before that are banknotes called Hansatsu, and they need the most attention.
Hansatsu banknotes were banknotes issued for use inside the domains during the Edo Period mainly. This paper money supplemented the coinage of the Tokugawa Shogunate. Most banknotes carried a face value in silver coins, but banknotes carried a face value in gold and copper were also circulated. Furthermore, some of them were marked for cash exchange for a commodity such as rice and fish.
We need to include these issuers in the Banknote Catalog, for a better organization of Japanese banknotes. Finally, I would really like to help the catalog grow further. I recently obtained a banknote from the Kishu Domain and would love to add it in Numista.
Thank you all.
