On the back is a symbol of an anchor with IV on each end and the Crown above with the date of 1822. Is this some sorrt of token coin as it has a small hole in the middle of columiar.

It was a West Indies ¼ dollar. N#20290

the other side was polished down and hand engraved . A turnverein was a social club.

Turnvereins in various locations appear to have held sport festivals. we can speculate that this was an award medal made on a random silver round. I found a reference to one “Columbia turnverein” located in Buffalo NY, in 1916. There may have been others.

https://indyencyclopedia.org/turners-turnvereins/      This is the only information I have found on the Turvereins. Thanks for the info given. It is appreciated. Don't know of anyone in my family that could have been or participated with them but do have German on my mothers side as their family goes back by the name Decker . Thanks again.
