Hello,
I just finished putting “cropped” photos and approximate coin conditions into my swap list for an inheritance I just received.
(about half a dozen Austrian coins left to update - camera battery needs replacing)
I always just collected US coins past 50 years…..but it took many days to identify all these foreign coins using Numista.
(some very valuable ones I looked up auction results on ngccoin, coinarchives, numisbids, ma-shops, acsearch, ebay, etc)
I'm trying to liquidate almost all of it, so I'm collecting / requesting only a few specific coins for a 70-yr old friend:
- some old wheat cents, Liberty halves, Benjamin halves, Mercury dimes, a few old Jefferson nickels, and junk silver dimes/quarters)
It actually might be better to liquidate some of my coins on Ebay or send to an auction house ?!?!
(specifically the $100+ coins - 1 Belgium, several Bohemian, 1 German, 2 Russian, and 1 South African)
This has really been a fascinating experience using Numista to identify these coins (especially Chinese and Bohemian / Austrian)
(I did post a few topics on Coin Identification / Evaluation re: medieval coins and Chinese coins)
Note - I'm sorry, but I don't want to hassle with expensive / complicated international shipping
Respectfully,
….mark
p.s. also been somewhat busy processing requests from my Santa Barbara area Craigslist ad for 1200+ DVDs
(obviously also available as swap material)
