Mint pattern or Medal Intended Coronation of Edward VIII

Could anyone identify this, as you can see it’s only been stamped on one side which is a bit odd. Is it a pattern coin or a medal of some kind (not very impressive if it is) ? Sorry for the quality of the photographs and the lack of any other information. I have struggled to get much in the way of information elsewhere on the Internet.

Very similar to this:  N#159612

I believe all the patterns for Edward VIII had him facing left.

Looking at the second picture notice at the top that the rim is slightly less thick,

so most likely the same medal as in the link but a different metal,

and someone cut the loop off that was above the crown.

Talking of the rim, notice on the first picture there is none -

so whoever cut the loop off also smoothed all the medal reverse,

rim and lettering, most likely to later engrave it, but never did.

That said, maybe there was no loop in the bronze (and other metals) version -

here is one like yours. Though still it has a reverse, so on yours it was removed,

rim and lettering, as this has a rim >

Interesting. There are differences in the three. EMPEROR vs. EMPEROR.  MADE IN ENGLAND in different locations.  12 vs 12th

Yes - putting in a search

medal H M EDWARD VIII KING AND EMPEROR

brings up quite a few designs, both obverse and reverse.

I made a rough obliteration of the reverse image to

show it smoothed, with no rim, like the member has >

Thank you for all your interesting suggestions, puzzling that a commemorative coin would be so small and insignificant.
