India 10 Paise 1975 Mint mark questions

4 posts • viewed 92 times

My question is in regards to the following coin.

N#10615

Numista has it with the following mints

Calcutta

Hyderabad

Mumbai

Mumbai (Proof)

NGC is showing only

Calcutta

Mumbai

Mumbai (Proof)

I believe the Hyderabad Mint is an error where someone thought the Star on either side of the 10 on the obverse was the mint mark for it.

So that would leave Calcutta with no mint mark under the wheat stalk and Mumbai with a diamond under the wheat stalk in either Proof or circulated coins.

So no B for Mumbai or * for Hyderabad correct?

Here is my Mumbai coin:

and here the one, I bought as Hyderabad without verifying it!

So I'll delete the Star coin from numista and my collection!

I have noticed no change on this page.

We can not just delete a year line in Numista. How can you prove, that a year does not exist? When I said delete from numista, I meant, I would delete my coin from the Hyderabad line!
