Value of AMF tokens with errors.

6 posts • viewed 66 times

I would like to know the value of a few AMF tokens I have. The first pic all 4 tokens are the same. The second pic is the reverse side of the same 4 tokens. From top to bottom: first token is normal.

Second token is  rotated 180 degrees

Third and fourth  tokens have a misprint  missing the letter “m” from means.

Any help valuing these would be appreciated.

A very common token in Australia. Not valuable individually, but a set as you are showing might be of more interest as it would save the collector in hunting the shown varieties down.

I do appreciate you listing these varieties and I will go back to my stockpile of AMF tokens to see if I have any of them. Suggest add into the catalogue.

thanks for the info, I will be adding them to my personal Master List.

Cheers Mike, I didn't think they had much value but then one was brought to my attention on ebay selling for $350 so thought I'd ask.  Thankyou for replying.

Cheers, I'm in the process of giving up on ebay re coins, tokens etc.

128 AMF tokens checked

Type 1 - Normal (medal orientation) with obvious triangle in background - 64 tokens

Type 2 - ENS (medal orientation) (on FAO side) with triangle dominant in some leading to a frosty background - 32 tokens

Type 3 - For Amusement Only (FAO) (both sides)  with about 10 degrees offset - 3 tokens

Type 4 - Upset - 3 tokens

Type 5 - AMF, Bowling pins and ball thick lines (almost no triangle in background) offset ranging from 10 degrees to about 40 (Worn Dies?) - 16 tokens

so the Ebay offering of a ‘type 2’ ‘EAN’ for $50 is a little high given they are the second most common type.
