Sales magazine for numismatists.

Hello colleagues, my son sent me a link to Prague if I want him to buy me this magazine for CZK 69, which is the current exchange rate 2,91USD.

My question?  Is it a valid banknote?  And cents for sure.  All UNC.  So I wrote to my son to buy the whole truck - that I would gradually exchange it with someone.  What does he know about it?  It is profitable?

Good day colleagues.

It is not easy to find this new magazine for numismatists.  All the newsstands only get two or three magazines and people buy it.  My son bought it for me and it is waiting for me at home for my arrival next week.  I also had one bought here in Prague today and I will try to get more of the first volumes of this magazine.  Contains a US bill and Canadian coins.  the second issue will be published - however at a higher price.  I think CZK 126.  - the first part is 69 CZK, I will have it for exchange.  I was very happy when the nurse brought it to me today.  A tribute to a numismatist for whom even such a thing pleases the soul.

Hi,

US notes aren't my thing, but yes, the 2 dollar note is legitimate.

There are a lot of varieties with most (all?) of the differences on the presidential side. To the lower right of the portrait is the issue year. The letter in the centre left star is the location of the printing press (the USA has several mints/presses). And there's the two signatures on either side.

As I'm given to understand, it's a very unpopular bill within the US to the extent that some people are unaware it even exists & thus refuse to accept it in shops.

They're usually lower in mintage than other value notes accordingly, but still aren't particularly rare.

Looking at the pictures in your messages, you've got the more recent years.

I don't believe you're likely to turn a profit on them, at least a significant one anyway. But might make nice low value trading pieces.

A Collector

Hi,

N#201812

They're usually lower in mintage than other value notes accordingly, but still aren't particularly rare.

I wish a very nice greeting to my colleague across the big pond.

I was more interested in the rarity of a magazine publisher that would put valid banknotes and coins on the front page of the magazine.

And the banknotes of a foreign country.

For me, it is important that they are coins and bills in UNC quality, nicely packaged and marked, and they will be used together with others to create a collector's album.  If I buy all the magazines published.

And hands on ❤️-i American collector sometimes has a small opportunity to add UNC coins of Canada.

The bill is a 2013 UNC and I have it for three dollars.  To me, it's a fair collectible.

I just hope that the magazine will be published for a long time.  I'll get a yearly subscription and let the post office take it home.

Have a stress-free day, colleagues.

Ivan

So my colleagues decided not to run from stand to stand to see if they had a magazine for sale.  I called my wife at home to get a year-long subscription to the new magazine delivered to my home by mail.  Premium subscription which includes gifts, silver coins, binder, cloth-magnifying glass, etc. etc. In the double number there should be this Romanian polymer banknote.  Binder etc. in the trio.

there are also many interesting articles on the history of banknotes and currency.

Even a sample from the life of ordinary Americans, so that we have an idea:

these silver coins should be for premium subscribers:

Various gifts, but mainly a lot of information in a nice magazine:

Promised gifts

Yes, I promise you won't spoil anything and they will never send you more than they promise you.  So we'll see - I'll keep you posted.  But above all, the clear idea is that who will give you a polymer banknote of the Romanian Leia, when the postage alone for its delivery is twice as expensive as the premium issue of the magazine.  I guess fellow collectors.

A big greeting to the collectors of the world.

I received the second and third volumes of the magazine in the mail today.

The second part focused exclusively on Romania - its history and numismatics. There is a 2000 Lei banknote commemorating the 1999 solar eclipse in a protective case. The banknote is made of polymer.

The third part is dedicated to Great Britain, there are two coins and as a gift a large binder and one sheet in it.

An interesting read.

Ahoj

Two numbers of the new magazine arrived by post now.

No. 4 is Venezuela and No. 5 Seychelles

Bit of a late reply;

The Romanian 2000 note is perhaps my favourite modern foreign (to me) note. I hope your booklet remembered to highlight that in the smaller solar system window (top left), there should be an even smaller square window inside it.

If you shine a narrow bright light (like a laser pointer) through that tiny square, it should create an image of the sun with radiant sun beam lines, and then have a dark spot, representing the moon covering a large amount of it.

IIRC, it was also the first polymer note in Europe.

Which reminds me, I really must buy a laser printer to try it out on my note. 😀

The UK halfpennies are nothing special. Think I've got something daft like 500 of those smaller half pennies myself. 😛

But still, sometimes the knowledge is more interesting & valuable than the coin itself.

Don't have anything to say about the other issues. I'm sure they're fun, just it's not my area really.
