Hello!

I think this coin is a 'Double Tournois' but I have some questions. Although I'm not sure of the date, it looks very similar to 1635. And this coin weighs only 1.5g. Shouldn't it be 2.5g? But its diameter is 20mm. Can the wear allowance be 1 gram?

I found two similar coins:

1. N#54134

2. N#54135

If it's one of these, which one could it be? Or could it be another coin? What are your ideas? Best wishes…

It's indeed a late version of double tournois Charles I de Gonzague (1601-37).

The stange thing is the position of the “5” in the date.

The weight variation results from wear. I've got some even lighter double tournois.

Thank you for your answer. Meanwhile it's 1,6g, I made a mistake while writing. I have one more question. Which one does the bust on this coin look like more? I couldn't be sure. 14th type or 15th type?

As I said, I would first clarify the date with this strange “5”

Bonjour!

N#54134

N#54135

Selon vous quel est le type exact ?

Thank you so much for answer my question. I'll ask on French Forum but I wonder how to understand the answers 😅

Sure “Il a une fraise autour du cou” is translated by "he gets a strawberry around his neck" 🤣

Even chatGPT would be all at sea …
