Hi,
I was sorting through coins that my father had given me after his trip to Egypt sometime in early 1990s. I have had this coin since almost 30 years.
I found a 5 Qirsh 1404 AH (1984) coin that has 2nd digit of Islamic year almost missing.

Is this a mule or someone might have done a mischief?
The digit is there but very faint. Only a highly skilled person can precisely remove that digit without damaging anything else.

Not a mule, that's for sure, look at this definition:

Most certainly, it's PMD (Post Mint Damage) coin.

Hi neotilva
Ole i think it is a filled die. What would make it a common mint error. That is when the number broke off and stayed in the die.

Doing good. Glad to hear all is well. Forgot when she was coming. I hope she has a safe and good trip. But we got way off topic here.
