Hello,

Please add I. Y. Bilibin as a designer for banknotes of the Soviet Union. The information is below:

Name: Ivan Yakovlevich Bilibin (Иван Яковлевич Билибин)

Wikidata: Q312024

He designed the double-headed eagle feature of the 1918 “Currency Note” Issue, accroding to https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CqOqdwcusVbbo2YEI2VfSs0X1cwR2dJP/view?usp=drive_link under file “SU. Part 1 (1917-1924).pdf" on page 79 of the file (84 of the book).

To be precise, the double-headed eagle designed by Bilibin was actually the emblem of the Provisional Government and the Russian Republic.

On banknotes it first appeared on the 20 and 40 rouble treasury notes introduced in August 1917 (Kerensky roubles), and the 250 rouble credit note introduced in September 1917 (with swastika).

This eagle also appeared in May 1919 on credit notes dated 1918 (Pyatakov roubles), since the clichés for these banknotes were prepared by the Provisional Government. The new coat of arms (Soviet) was legalized in July 1918 with the adoption of the Constitution of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

I think I see what you are saying. He designed the double-headed eagle, with it being used as the emblem by the Provisional Government and the Russian Republic, as well as on banknotes. He should then not be added as a designer, since it was not designed initially for the purpose of use on the banknotes’ design. I think I jumped to conclusions during my reading last night 😅. Thanks Feklisov!
